The relationship between the male and female protagonists in this story is extremely complex and fraught with pain and abuse.

The turning point occurs when Natalie, Ellen's only friend and source of support, is killed by Derek's order. This event shatters Ellen's world and further fuels her hatred and despair. She is now determined to escape the pack and the clutches of Derek.

However, Derek is equally determined to keep her in the pack and continue to make her suffer. He revels in her pain and has no intention of letting her go free. Their relationship is a twisted and toxic one, with Ellen desperate to break free and Derek intent on maintaining his control and dominance over her. As the story progresses, it remains to be seen how Ellen will navigate this nightmare and whether she can find a way to escape Derek's clutches and find some semblance of peace and freedom.
