In the heart of the mafia underworld, Ariana Rinaldi's life is a tumultuous blend of family drama and personal desires. Hating her father, a man she deems a beast and criminal, Ariana has found solace in Malta. But her idyllic life is shattered when summoned back to Italy for a party in honor of her adopted brother, Matteo Donatelli.

Matteo, a rising power in the mafia, has his own share of issues. When Ariana is arrested upon her arrival in Italy, wrongly accused of conspiring with him to distribute hard drugs, Matteo is tasked by his father, Don Vincenzo Rinaldi, to fix the mess. This arrest, a result of Matteo's call to an Interpol officer's bluff, sets in motion a series of events that will change everything.

At the police station, Matteo strikes a deal with the officer, Pius Asissi. The officer reveals that his bosses want Don Vincenzo out of the game and Mateo is the one they expect to make it happen. In exchange, Ariana is released.

Back at the mansion, pre-party tensions run high. Ariana's step-sisters, Serena and Luna, along with their mother, create a scene, even going so far as to try and take Ariana's dress. Left in just her underwear, Ariana manages to escape and change into a red gown.

The party is a gathering of powerful mafia families, including the ruthless La Famiglia Nera family led by Don Antonio Argento. Silvio Argento's lecherous gaze on Ariana makes her uncomfortable, while Matteo, with his American woman Becky on his arm, can't seem to take his eyes off Ariana either.

Ariana congratulates Matteo unenthusiastically, but his eyes and words are filled with an inappropriate hunger. Drunk and consumed by a primal urge, Matteo follows Ariana upstairs after overhearing her conversation with her friend Fiona. Bursting into her room, he pins her against the window, his actions becoming increasingly violent and sexual. He kisses her, touches her inappropriately, and makes his lascivious intentions clear.

Ariana struggles, crying and begging him to stop, but Matteo is too intoxicated and driven by his desires to listen. The situation escalates as he continues his assault, seemingly oblivious to the consequences and the fact that Ariana is his adopted sister.
