New York City, a place straight out of my wildest dreams. It's been scribbled on my bucket list for as long as I can remember - the concrete staircases, the black - painted iron handrails, and those charming hardwood door frames with intricate carvings. I had imagined living in an apartment just like in the movies, with a view of the city from the attic. Well, life had other plans, and I ended up in a basement apartment. But you know what? It's still a slice of paradise. The tiny porch with a round wooden table and two cozy chairs, surrounded by beautiful violets and strung with chestnut - sized colorful lights, makes it feel like a little piece of magic.

My first day in this new neighborhood was... eventful, to say the least. I was strolling around, taking in the sights, when a flower shop caught my eye. There were orchids hanging in front, and an array of roses, tulips, carnations, baby's breath, and lilies on display. And then, I saw them - the long - stemmed red daisies, my absolute favorite. I was so excited that I rushed towards them, only to face - plant into the glass window. Embarrassing? Oh, you bet. But that was just the beginning. As I tried to make a quick escape, the wind decided to have its fun, blowing my skirt up and revealing my panties to the world. I could have died of humiliation right then and there.

But amidst all the chaos, I met him - Nikolai. He was across the street, and the moment my eyes landed on him, it was like time stood still. He was tall, with a perfectly sculpted body, dark brown hair, and the most mesmerizing green eyes. And that scruffy beard? It just added to his god - like charm. When he looked at me, I felt like I was floating. There was an instant connection, a spark that I couldn't ignore. We exchanged greetings, and I could barely contain my nerves. It was like I had turned into a bumbling mess in front of him.

My life in New York wasn't just about cute boys, though. I got a job at St. Mary's School for kids with special needs, which I'm absolutely thrilled about. I've always loved working with children, and this is a dream come true. And then there's Sawyer, my upstairs neighbor. He's a college football quarterback who got into an accident and is now recovering. His mom, Loraine, needed help, and I was more than happy to lend a hand. At first, Sawyer was a bit closed - off, but as we spent more time together, I got to see the real him. He's sweet, funny, and has a heart of gold. We've become really close, and I feel like I've found a little brother in him.

However, my new life hasn't been without its challenges. I went to a club with some colleagues, or so I thought. I ended up being drugged by a guy named Jared. I was so naive, accepting a drink from a stranger. I felt so helpless as I was trapped in that situation. But then, someone saved me. It was Volkov, or as I later found out, Nikolai. I couldn't believe it when I realized that the man who had saved my life was the same man I had been crushing on. It was like a scene out of a movie.

After that, things between Nikolai and me got... intense. We shared our first kiss, and it was like nothing I had ever experienced before. His lips on mine, his arms pulling me close - it was pure magic. He asked me out for dinner, and I was over the moon. But then, he had to cancel due to some business. I was heartbroken, feeling like I had misunderstood our connection. I was so confused and hurt that I decided to go for a walk.

On that walk, I stumbled upon some guys trying to vandalize the flower shop. I tried to stop them, but they were threatening me. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, Alexei showed up. He's Nikolai's friend, and he's always so... intense. He saved me from those guys and took me back to Nikolai's place. That's when I learned more about Nikolai's past, about his family and the tragedies he's faced. I felt like I was starting to understand him better, but at the same time, I knew there was so much more I didn't know.

Now, I'm at a crossroads. I have feelings for Nikolai that I can't ignore, but I also have my new job, my friendship with Sawyer, and my life in this new city to think about. I'm not sure where this journey with Nikolai will take me. Will he be the love of my life, or is this just a passing fling? And what about Sawyer? I don't want to hurt him, but I also can't deny my feelings for Nikolai.

As I look out at the New York skyline from my basement apartment window, I wonder what the future holds. I'm excited, scared, and everything in between. But one thing's for sure - my life in New York has just started, and it's already been one hell of a ride. I can't wait to see what's in store for me, whether it's more heart - stopping kisses with Nikolai, more adventures with Sawyer, or new challenges at my job. This is my story, and I'm ready to embrace every moment of it.
