marriage with Riccardo for three years. Their relationship began with her unrequited love during college, which was reignited when she saved his grandfather and was offered a chance to marry him, despite his existing girlfriend.

Theirs was a contract marriage, and Riccardo's coldness and continued involvement with his ex-girlfriend, Tiffany, have caused Vanessa great pain. She endures his late arrivals, harsh words, and public embarrassments, yet she refuses to give up on her love for him.

One fateful night, after a particularly difficult argument, Vanessa discovers she is two months pregnant. Overjoyed at the prospect of motherhood, she hopes this news might change Riccardo's feelings towards her. However, her world is shattered when Riccardo returns home enraged, accusing her of being a slut and a whore. He presents her with divorce papers and pictures that he claims prove her infidelity.

Vanessa pleads her innocence, insisting the pictures are edited, but Riccardo refuses to believe her. His ex-girlfriend seems to be involved, and Riccardo's trust in Vanessa is non-existent. In the heat of the moment, Vanessa realizes the marriage may not be worth saving and signs the papers.

Heartbroken and alone, she leaves Riccardo's house and checks into a hotel. As she looks out of the hotel window, seeking solace in the stars, she spots Riccardo entering the hotel with his ex-girlfriend. This sight further breaks her already shattered heart.
