Skylar's winter break takes a nightmarish turn when she's yanked into a world of chaos and danger. It all begins on a seemingly ordinary shopping trip with her friends.

Her heart pounds in her chest, and her mind races, but she's frozen in fear. The mall erupts into chaos as people scatter, screaming and diving for cover.

Landon's desperate cries for her cut through the panic, but the kidnapper's threats keep him at bay. Skylar's struggle for freedom becomes a heart-stopping battle. She manages to fight back with a quick-thinking move, using her strawberry smoothie as a weapon, but just when she thinks she's about to reach safety in Landon's arms, she's yanked back into the clutches of danger.

As the kidnapper drags her away, Skylar's world collapses. The police seem powerless to stop him, and she's left with a terrifying sense of helplessness. In the car, she discovers that her kidnapper is an enigma. He claims the gun wasn't loaded, and his actions are a confusing mix of threats and moments of strange calm.

What does he want with her? Where is he taking her? And will Skylar ever see her friends and family again? The answers lie in the shadows as Skylar's journey into the unknown unfolds. One thing is certain: her life will never be the same again.
