Stella and her family have just moved to a new country, a place filled with dense woods and an old, castle-like school. The journey has been a rollercoaster of emotions for Stella, from the heartbreak of leaving her friends behind to the fear and uncertainty of starting a new life.

On her first day at Saint Louis school, Stella gets lost in the labyrinthine corridors of the ancient building. As she wanders into a restricted area, she stumbles upon a creature that resembles a wolf, which terrifies her. A mysterious guy, who might be a teacher, helps her find her way back to the classroom area. But his warning that the school "isn't what you think it is" only adds to the mystery.

In class, Stella struggles to keep up with the new teachers and classmates. She meets Calesti, a friendly girl who becomes her first friend at the school. Calesti tells her about the "royals," a group of students who seem to have their own hierarchy and secrets. Stella notices that they dress differently and carry themselves with an air of superiority.

During lunch, the pressure from the "royals'" eyes becomes too much for Stella, and she has a panic attack. A handsome guy named Theo, who is one of the "royals" but seems nicer, comes to her aid and helps her to the nurse's office. There, Calesti reveals that Theo is her neighbor and that the "royals" might have some royal blood in them.

As Stella and Finn leave school, not knowing exactly how to get home, they are about to embark on another adventure. But the big question remains: what other secrets does this new school and the surrounding woods hold? Will Stella be able to fit in and uncover the truth behind the strange occurrences?
