This is a heartwarming and dramatic story about Nassandra, a woman facing a difficult life, and little Brylle, whose paths cross by chance on the streets.

Nassandra has been living a nomadic and poverty - stricken life for two years. She scavenges for odd jobs to survive and always tries to avoid large crowds, though the reason remains unknown. One day, while taking a rest by the wall of a nearby home, she discovers Brylle, a two - year - old boy sitting alone on a cloth. The neighbors have been taking care of him, but no one has been able to adopt him as he refuses to leave the spot. Nassandra decides to take him in, and from then on, they become each other's family.

They are later taken in by Tiya Anne, a kind - hearted middle - aged woman. In return, Nassandra does chores for her. Nassandra struggles to find a well - paying job as most of the jobs she desires require a college degree, and the ones she is eligible for don't pay enough to support her and Brylle.

One day, Brylle suddenly passes out at the playground. Nassandra rushes him to the hospital, where she finds out that he has severe dengue. His condition is critical as his platelets are decreasing rapidly, and he needs a blood transfusion. The hospital runs out of the required blood type, and Nassandra's blood type is incompatible. Just when she is in despair, William, Tiya Anne's acquaintance, brings his boss, Zeke Nicolas Alexandre, who is an O - type and willing to donate blood. Zeke donates a large amount of blood, even insisting on giving more when the hospital realizes Brylle needs more than initially thought.

After that, Zeke transfers Brylle to a private ward, covering all the expenses. This act makes Nassandra suspicious and angry. She confronts Zeke, not knowing that he is the owner of the hospital. When she slaps him for his seemingly arrogant attitude, he reveals his identity. Zeke then offers Nassandra a job as a maid in Andrew's house (the identity of Andrew is not fully explained). The salary is 35,000 pesos per month, and he suggests not paying her for the first two months to cover Brylle's hospital bills, which amount to over 70,000 pesos. Nassandra is reluctant at first, as she doesn't want to be in debt due to the cultural concept of "utang ng loob" (the obligation to repay a favor), especially considering her family's tragic experience with debt. However, for Brylle's sake, she finally accepts the job offer.

The story is filled with elements of hardship, kindness, and tough choices, highlighting the power of love and sacrifice in the face of adversity.
