The story unfolds with Lynn's anxiety about meeting her new roommate, Alec. After a tiring day of classes, she returns to her apartment to find it in chaos, with loud music blaring and Alec making out with a girl on the couch. This initial encounter sets the tone for their rocky relationship.

Alec's behavior continues to be a source of frustration for Lynn. He asks her to skip class and help him unpack, and when she does, he texts another girl over, leaving Lynn feeling used and angry. One night, Lynn gets drunk and wakes up in Alec's bed. She is horrified, thinking she may have slept with him, but Alec assures her nothing happened. However, he continues to tease her, and Lynn is left feeling confused and conflicted about her feelings for him.

The next day, Ross and Chris come to check on Lynn. When Chris leaves, Lynn, still reeling from Alec's rejection, impulsively kisses Ross. This action further complicates the already complex web of relationships in the story. As the story progresses, the characters' interactions and emotions continue to evolve, with Lynn struggling to deal with Alec's behavior and her own growing feelings for him, while Alec grapples with his own desires and the realization that he may have hurt Lynn more than he intended.
