Alyssa, a waitress in Baltimore, has her life turned upside down after a mysterious encounter. Ethan Harris, a wealthy and powerful man, leaves her a note asking to meet. When she goes, she discovers Ethan is involved in something dangerous and that Xavier Reed, a notorious mafia boss, is also interested in her.

Xavier reveals that Ethan has secrets and is tied to the criminal underworld, and that Alyssa is somehow key to a bigger plan. A violent confrontation ensues, and Xavier shoots one of his own men.

Alyssa runs but is later found by Ethan, who warns her that Xavier won't stop coming after her. Packages start arriving at her doorstep, containing an old photo of herself and a locket with a picture from her childhood. The locket and a threatening message make it clear someone is watching her and knows about her past.

When another package arrives with a photo of her as a child with her father and Xavier in the background, she realizes Xavier's interest in her is personal and that she's caught in a complex and dangerous situation.
