The story unfolds in the high-octane world of racing. The protagonist, Sherlyn, finds herself in a terrifying situation when Ben Jones, her former lover, seemingly tries to run her over with his car. Ben's behavior is strange as he acts as if he doesn't know her, despite their past together. It is later revealed that he might have lost his memory after being injured by local gangsters abroad two years ago and was saved by his current fiancée. However, Sherlyn suspects that he may be faking it.

The racing club Sherlyn is part of then faces a crisis when all sponsors withdraw. Lucy, Sherlyn's friend, arranges a meeting with the person responsible, which turns out to be Ben. Lucy has betrayed Sherlyn for the sake of the club. At the meeting, Ben's friend humiliates Sherlyn, and Ben initially does nothing to stop it. Eventually, Ben takes Sherlyn to an adjacent room and reveals that he has been searching for her for four years and that he only pretended to lose his memory to lower her defenses. Their past is a complex one. Four years ago, Ben's business collapsed with evidence of illegal activities surfacing. He planned to take Sherlyn abroad, and on the night before their departure, he proposed to her on the Ferris wheel. But they were then surrounded by police, and Sherlyn's cold reaction led to a bitter parting. Now, Ben is determined to have Sherlyn back in his life, and he uses ruthless methods to bring chaos to the club. Sherlyn tries to resist and asks Jonathon for help, borrowing money to compensate Lucy. But Ben continues to be a menacing presence in her life, constantly watching her and making it clear that he won't let her go easily.
