The narrative unfolds around Micaela Noboa, a young woman living under the roof of her aunt Marta and cousin Adriana, who harbor ill intentions towards her. Returning home briefly, Micaela faces Marta and Adriana's malicious plans to force her into becoming the mistress of another businessman, Mr. Feijoo, for financial gain. Locked in her room, Micaela realizes the extent of their cruelty and decides she must escape immediately to avoid further harm. The story captures Micaela's struggle against those who wish to exploit her and her determination to forge her own path despite the adversities she faces.
