Florence Fraser had a nightmare about being raped and feared the man would find her. She was set to meet her fiancé, Ernest Hawkins, the powerful CEO of the Hawkins Group. Ernest, known for his ruthless business tactics, had his special assistant Timothy Reid searching for a woman who entered his room at a hotel. The surveillance camera was destroyed, making it hard to identify her. Ernest gave Timothy one month to find her.

Ernest told Florence he would proceed with the engagement ceremony as usual but would officially cancel the marriage in a month, offering her a large cheque. The next day, at the Ophelia Hotel for the engagement, Florence saw her ex-boyfriend Grayson Russell and her university enemy Isabel Hopkins getting married. Isabel accused Florence of coming to seduce Grayson and mocked her. Ernest arrived, called Florence his fiancée, and defended her against Grayson.

Isabel then revealed a photo of Florence with Tobias Palmer at the Style Hotel, implying she was unfaithful. Florence denied it, suspecting the photo was doctored, but Isabel was determined to ruin her reputation. The engagement banquet was about to start, and Florence worried Ernest would abandon her due to the scandal.
