Sean Mason, who was once the highly regarded Young Mr. Mason of the prominent Mason family in the capital city, had his life turned upside down five years ago. He was unjustly framed and subsequently thrown into prison. After serving his time, he emerges from the Hilshire detention center only to find that the Mason family, under the control of the Old Mrs. Mason who has always held a grudge against him due to his mother's humble background, still harbors malicious intentions towards him and wants him dead. However, unbeknownst to them, Sean has transformed into a formidable force. During his time away, he was secretly drafted into the military in the North and through years of arduous and bloody expeditions, he has achieved remarkable military success and has come to be known as the General Wolf of the North.

In the meantime, in Hilshire, the Moore family, a second-rate family with its own internal dynamics and power struggles, arranges an engagement between Cecilia Moore and Sean Mason. Cecilia's family, especially her mother Marcia, is vehemently opposed to this union as they have obtained information that portrays Sean as a dangerous and untrustworthy individual. They believe that he is a rapist and has a violent disposition, having spent five years in the Hilshire Detention Center. Matthew Moore, although trying to be more cautious in his assessment, is also deeply concerned about his daughter's future.

At the engagement party held at the Emperor Hotel, a series of unexpected events unfold. Sean arrives at the hotel with Cecilia's daughter Phyllis in his arms. Phyllis had been bullied by Lucas Moore, Isaac's son, and his group of friends outside the hotel. Sean intervened and taught the boys a lesson, which included making them pee on Lucas as a form of punishment. This incident not only shocks the guests but also sets the stage for further drama. When Sean enters the hotel lobby with Phyllis, Cecilia is surprised and confused. Isaac then tries to humiliate Cecilia by revealing her past and the fact that she has an illegitimate daughter. However, Phyllis innocently asks Sean to teach Isaac a lesson, and Sean promptly slaps Isaac, leading to a full-blown confrontation. The Moore family's bodyguards attempt to attack Sean, but he effortlessly defeats them all in a matter of seconds, leaving everyone in the lobby stunned and in awe of his strength. Sean then takes Cecilia and Phyllis home, firmly declaring that they are now his family and that he will protect them from any harm. He makes it clear that anyone who dares to touch his wife and daughter will face severe consequences.

Back at the Garden Community, where Cecilia and her family live in a somewhat shabby house that has seen better days, Cecilia is in a state of great confusion and inner turmoil. She is touched by Sean's actions in standing up for her and Phyllis at the hotel, risking the wrath of the Moore family. However, she is still hesitant and reluctant to fully embrace the idea of being Sean's wife. The thought of being in a relationship with a man who has such a troubled past and a criminal record is a significant obstacle for her. On the other hand, Phyllis seems to have taken a liking to Sean and is excited about having him around. She even asks Sean if he will sleep on the floor, as per her grandmother's instructions that only her father can sleep with her mother. This simple yet endearing interaction between Phyllis and Sean further complicates Cecilia's emotions. Meanwhile, the Moore family, particularly Dylan and Isaac, are not content with the outcome at the hotel. They see Cecilia as a threat, especially due to her outstanding work achievements at the Moore Group. They plan to use her work situation to their advantage and try to cut her short by reaching out to her major clients and attempting to replace her in the business deals she has been handling. Isaac, in his spiteful nature, even calls Cecilia to taunt her about her new married life, adding to the stress and uncertainty that Cecilia is already facing.
