Samantha Soriano is about to return to San Francisco after almost four years away. She's determined to see her daughter and surprise her on her birthday, but the thought of facing her ex-husband, Luke Marcuz Williams, looms large.
Four years ago, at just 17, Samantha was head over heels in love with Luke, her older brother Dale's best friend. Luke, 21 and heir to a major advertising company, already had a girlfriend, Cherry. But Samantha was undeterred. She would visit the university where they studied, wearing skimpy outfits in an attempt to get his attention.
During a basketball practice, she finally caught Luke's eye, but not in the way she hoped. He called her a spoiled brat high school student, criticized her outfit, and made it clear he had no interest in her. He was in love with his girlfriend and warned Samantha to stop her childish behavior.
Despite the rejection, Samantha was resolute. She believed she could make Luke hers, even if it meant causing trouble between him and his girlfriend. But her brother Dale caught her in the act and threatened to tell their parents.
Now, as Samantha prepares to go back, her best friend Jack questions whether she's truly ready to face Luke again. Samantha claims she's moved on, especially since she has a new boyfriend, David, a doctor who loves and understands her. However, Jack wonders if old feelings might resurface.
The story is filled with drama and tension. Will Samantha be able to handle seeing Luke again? Will her past mistakes and the unresolved feelings between them come back to haunt her? What will happen when she returns to the city that holds so many memories, both happy and painful?
