*An Enemy Called Mate* is a novel full of fantasy and emotional entanglements. The female protagonist, Ziva, as the daughter of the Alpha, saw her fate take a sharp turn downward because she failed to transform into a wolf on her 18th birthday. The male protagonist, Alpha Xander, the Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack, is rumored to be cold - blooded and ruthless, even having killed his own mate, which shrouds his image in mystery and terror. This novel revolves around Ziva's ups - and - downs life, telling a story of betrayal, redemption, and love.

Ziva spends every day in the pack house, just like other Omegas, listening to commands like "Wash this, wash that", "Clean this, clean that", and engaging in heavy cleaning work. All of this stems from the death of her mother. Since then, her father's attitude has changed dramatically. He no longer regards Ziva as his daughter. Instead, he marries a new Luna (the female leader in the pack) and dotes on the daughter of his step - wife. Ziva, on the other hand, has become the object of everyone's contempt.

Finally, Ziva's 18th birthday arrives. She eagerly anticipates transforming into a wolf under the full moon, looking forward to a new life. However, fate plays a cruel joke on her. Not only does she not transform, but she can't even sense her wolf nature. From then on, her status in the pack plummets. The respect and love she once had disappear, replaced by endless disdain and cast aside.

In these dark days, the only hope for Ziva is her lover, Nikolas. Nikolas came to her pack after a war. The two knew each other since childhood and gradually developed from friends to lovers. He promised to come back and take Ziva away from this cage - like home. Ziva waited with joy in her heart. Finally, on the appointed day, Nikolas appeared.

However, when Ziva was looking forward to leaving with him, Nikolas postponed the escape plan on the grounds of something coming up. What Ziva never expected was that the next day, she witnessed Nikolas becoming the mate of her step - sister, Tania, at Tania's mating ceremony. At that moment, Ziva's world completely collapsed, and her hopes were instantly shattered.
