The story unfolds in a captivating blend of two distinct worlds, one of royalty and privilege in Empire Astheria and the other of wealth and excess in Beverly Hills, California.
In Empire Astheria, Princess Natalia Alexis Santiana leads a life of luxury but is burdened by the weight of her royal duties. Every morning, she struggles to get out of bed as her personal aide, Elva Thompson, tries to rouse her for a day filled with lessons, including waltz, music, tennis, and royal etiquette. Natalia often dreams of a normal life, yearning to attend a regular school, have sleepovers, and fall in love like an ordinary teenager. Her grandmother, Queen Fiona, dotes on her but is in declining health. One day, after a heart - to - heart conversation about Natalia's desires, the Queen decides to send her on a trip to experience the outside world. Natalia will leave Astheria with Elva, incognito, to gain the firsthand experience needed to become a better Empress in the future. This decision fills Natalia with excitement as she anticipates the adventures that lie ahead.
Meanwhile, in Beverly Hills, Arian Antoine De' Argent, the young master of a wealthy family, prefers a solitary life. He spends his days reading books and playing video games, relishing the silence and avoiding social interactions. His routine is disrupted when his butler wakes him up for breakfast, where he has to face his family and friends. His friends, Jeffrey Campbell and Ricky Winterfield, are more outgoing. Jeffrey is infatuated with Becky O'Neil, while Ricky often indulges in partying. One night, Jeffrey discovers Becky crying in the parking lot after she catches her crush, Danny Craig, with another girl. Jeffrey saves Becky from being hit by a delivery truck and takes her to a coffee shop. Becky is initially confused and embarrassed but starts to wonder about Jeffrey's kindness.
