This is a romantic novel filled with twists and turns, revolving around the complex relationship among Albina, Umberto, and Yolanda.
Albina, a blind woman, has endured three years of an unhappy marriage. Umberto's mother constantly insults her, and she discovers that Umberto has been using her to transfuse blood to his ex - lover Yolanda. Three years ago, Albina's father was involved in a car accident that left Yolanda in a vegetative state. Umberto married Albina under the guise of love, but in fact, it was to get her blood for Yolanda. When Albina finds out the truth, she decides to divorce Umberto.
On the day of the divorce, Umberto's cold - hearted words and actions deeply hurt Albina. Yolanda, who has just woken up, and Umberto's mother further humiliate Albina. They search her suitcase, suspect her of stealing, and even force her to sign an agreement that prohibits her from talking about her marriage with Umberto.
After leaving Umberto's house, Albina meets with many difficulties. She has no place to go, and when she tries to find refuge with her mother, her mother, who suffers from intermittent mania, pushes her away due to trauma. Just when she is at her most desperate, Miguel Aguila, her family doctor, appears. He helps her get a job as a pianist in a restaurant.

Umberto, who happens to be there, punishes those who bullied Albina. But his actions make Yolanda jealous and angry.
Later, Umberto goes to Albina's room. Seeing her with Miguel, he is jealous and initially misunderstands their relationship. After realizing the truth, he helps Albina apply ointment to her wounds. Then, he asks Albina to come back to him, not as his wife but in another capacity. Albina is deeply hurt by his proposal. She refuses him resolutely, expressing her hatred for his past actions and his current disrespect.
Throughout the story, the themes of love, betrayal, revenge, and self - respect are intertwined. Albina's journey shows her growth from a submissive wife to a woman who bravely defends her dignity, while Umberto's complex feelings and actions add more layers to the plot.
