The story begins with Maverick, a powerful and handsome man, finding himself in a vulnerable state. After consuming only three shots of vodka, he experiences an overwhelming and unusual reaction. The woman, Katherine, is on a mission assigned by her mysterious boss. Her task is to get pregnant by Maverick. Before the encounter with Maverick, Katherine's life is shown to be intertwined with this unknown organization. She receives missions through envelopes, often dealing with men in various ways. For example, she bribes men involved in her missions by drugging them and having brief sexual encounters. Her relationship with James, who lives with her, is also a significant part of the story. They have a bantering and sometimes argumentative relationship. James is concerned about Katherine's dangerous missions, but she feels indebted to the boss who saved her from a difficult past on the streets of Morocco, where she once made a deal with a man to kill in exchange for food.
On the day of the mission to seduce Maverick, Katherine prepares carefully. She plans to pose as a coffee girl near the hotel where Maverick is staying, as his men are everywhere and she needs to be cautious. She also uses a wireless earpiece to receive updates about Maverick's movements from her accomplices.
When Katherine finally confronts Maverick in his room, a tense and provocative scene ensues. Maverick tries to resist her advances, but the drug in his system weakens him. Katherine, undeterred, continues with her mission, taunting Maverick and making it clear that she wants both him and his money. As the story progresses, the reader is left in suspense about the outcome of their encounter, the reasons behind the boss's strange mission, and what the future holds for Katherine, Maverick, and James.
