In the biting cold of the coldest day in ten years, snowflakes swirled through the air as Kate, a supermarket worker, went about her day. Little did she know that her ordinary life was about to be turned upside down.

A mysterious envelope from her friend Caroline sets off a chain of events that land Kate in the hands of dangerous men. They're after a disc, but Kate has no idea what they're talking about. Her refusals lead to terrifying torture, from the threat of a dagger to being submerged in water. Locked in a pitch - black room, she endures physical and mental agony, haunted by memories of her past, especially the time she saved her brother from drowning.

Just when it seems like all is lost, she's unexpectedly released. Back at her apartment, she's shaken but relieved to be free. However, her peace is short - lived as she receives a call from her sister. Her father is in the hospital, suffering from a fatal disease. With no time to waste, she rushes to the railway station to head home.

At the station, John, a coworker, gives her an envelope filled with three thousand dollars to help with her family's situation. Touched by his kindness, Kate is faced with a difficult decision. She still has the envelope from Caroline, and she knows that the men who kidnapped her are still out there, watching. If she hands over the disc, she might be able to protect her family from potential danger. But if she does, she could be involved in something illegal.

As the train approaches, Kate stands on the platform, her heart pounding. She looks down at the envelope in her hand, torn between the safety of her family and the unknown consequences of giving in to the kidnappers' demands. Finally, she takes a deep breath and makes her choice.

She decides to keep the envelope hidden, vowing to protect it at all costs. She reasons that if she gives in now, there's no guarantee the men will leave her or her family alone. Instead, she'll find a way to expose them and keep her loved ones safe. A sense of determination floods through her. Fear still lingers in the pit of her stomach, but she knows she can't let it control her. She steps onto the train, ready to face whatever comes her way, with the hope that she's made the right decision and that she'll be able to save her father and her family from this nightmare.
