For example, he tightly grabs her wrist, pulls her close, and sniffs her scent. These series of actions make Leah both scared and confused, yet she also develops an indescribable complex emotion towards him.
The next day, Leah makes an appointment with Alanna to have coffee. In the coffee shop, Leah sees Jake again. There is a girl sitting beside him, which makes Leah feel a twinge of jealousy. This emotion is quite unfamiliar to her, considering she doesn't know Jake well. Later, Alanna and Lacey invite Leah to have fun at the beach at night, and Leah looks forward to it with great anticipation. After getting her grandmother's permission at home, she goes to Alanna's house to gather. At Alanna's house, Leah experiences some strange things again. First, she hears what seems to be a growl. Then, when they are about to set off, Lacey is taken away by Jack for an unknown reason, and the beach trip has to be cancelled.
Leah is a bit disappointed. After returning home, she receives a message from Alanna. Persuaded by her grandmother, she goes to Alanna's house again. At this party, she meets Kane. Kane makes flirtatious remarks to her, but after their conversation, they get along fairly well. Kane also reveals that he used to date Jake's sister, and Jake seems to hold a grudge against him. Just after Kane leaves, Jake takes the initiative to sit beside Leah. When they shake hands, Leah feels a wonderful feeling she has never experienced before.
Early the next morning, Leah goes out for a run but unfortunately gets lost in the forest. At a critical moment, Kane and his friends appear and lead her out of the predicament. Kane warns Leah that there are wolves in the forest, which makes Leah recall the wolf - like howl she heard before, and she can't help but feel a bit worried. When she returns home, Leah is surprised to find that Jake, his father, and some of his friends are having breakfast with her grandmother at home. When Jake learns that Leah got lost in the forest and it was Kane who brought her back, he suddenly loses control of his emotions and trembles with anger. Jake's father, seeing this, asks Leah to quickly call Alanna.
