Story Synopsis

My name is Cassandra. Every morning, I wake up in a cheap rental apartment, facing the annoying popcorn ceiling, feeling utterly helpless. I work as a teller at a bank. The job is dull, and the manager is difficult to deal with, but I have to endure it for a living. At night, I often drink with the girls from night school, trying to relieve the boredom, yet I never seem to fit in with them. I'm not satisfied with my appearance. I always think my nose is too prominent, my eyes are too big, and my body is a bit plump. Despite having attractive curves, I still lack confidence.

My younger brother, Andre, lives with me. He is hardworking and kind and takes on a lot of the household chores. Our childhood was filled with shadows. Our father had a bad temper, and our stepmother, Gloria, was even more cruel. She not only abused Andre but also sexually assaulted him for years. When I learned about this, my heart was filled with guilt, regretting that I hadn't protected him better in the past.

Now, we are trying to start a new life in a new city. Andre is excellent in school, but he has difficulties in his art class. I do my best to help him, just as he relied on me in the past. However, the relationship between us is changing quietly. I find myself having an indescribable feeling for Andre. This feeling makes me both excited and scared. I keep reminding myself that he is my brother, but my desires grow like wild grass.

One day, Andre had a conflict with Henry Fisher from the basketball team while working out in the school gym. It started because of Fisher's inappropriate remarks and touches. Andre's overreaction made Fisher and the others unhappy, and they decided to deal with him using a secretly taken photo. This put Andre in a difficult situation. Unaware of this, I continued to struggle with my inner emotions, not knowing what to do.

Personality: Introverted and silent, industrious and capable, focused and organized in doing things. But due to childhood trauma, he has difficulties in interpersonal communication and emotional expression and is extremely sensitive to others' touches.

Background: Suffered abuse and sexual assault from his stepmother since childhood. With the help of his sister Cassandra, he escaped from his original family and depended on each other. Excerpt

The morning sun shines on my face through the window as I wake up from a hangover with a splitting headache. Looking at myself in the mirror, I can't help but dislike my prominent nose and overly large eyes. I get dressed, ready to face another boring day at the bank.

At the bank, I mechanically serve customers while thinking about my night school courses in the evening. After work, I rush home, looking forward to the dinner Andre has prepared. When I open the door and see his strong body and handsome face, a complex emotion surges within me. I know it's wrong, but I can't control my gaze.

During dinner, we eat in silence, and the atmosphere is a bit dull. I try to break the silence but don't know what to say. After dinner, we sit on the couch and watch TV. I deliberately move closer to him, feeling his body temperature. When I tease him about school, his reaction makes my heart flutter. I know I should stop, but my body doesn't listen. I long for his touch but fear that this forbidden emotion will ruin us. How should I face my heart? How should I handle my relationship with Andre? Where is the way forward? I am deeply lost.
