In the bustling downtown of America, at the cozy Cafe World, a seemingly indifferent woman named Sherry sat casually, sipping her coffee while engrossed in a mobile game. She exuded an air of nonchalance, as if she was both waiting for someone and yet not really bothered by the wait.
Suddenly, a young man named Clinton approached her and asked, "Are you Miss Sherry?" Sherry looked up with an emotionless gaze and replied coldly, "I am." Clinton, who introduced himself as Mr. Bryan's secretary, couldn't help but be taken aback by Sherry's appearance. Her snow-white skin, oval face, alluring eyebrows, and bright red lips like cherries were a sight to behold, but her eyes were like cold, unfeeling guns that sent shivers down his spine.
Clinton informed Sherry that his boss, Bryan, was busy and unable to come in person. He then got straight to the point and presented a contract for her to review. Sherry took the document and read it with great concentration. Meanwhile, Clinton took the opportunity to closely observe her. She had neatly styled hair and was dressed in a long white skirt, looking regal and commanding.
After quickly finishing reading the contract, Sherry asked for a pen. Clinton, still in a bit of a daze from her speed, fumbled a bit before handing her one. Sherry signed the contract with a swift stroke and returned it to Clinton, who then placed it in an envelope and got up to leave. Before departing, he offered Sherry a ride, but she declined, her attention already back on her phone.
Sherry left the cafe after finishing her coffee, feeling satisfied as she thought about the money she would earn from the deal. She hailed a cab and headed home. However, her peace was short-lived when her phone rang. It was her sister, Nancy, but she let it ring until it stopped.
Shortly after, an unfamiliar number called. Sherry ignored it at first, but when it rang again and she saw it was Nancy once more, she reluctantly answered. A girl on the other end informed her that Nancy was in trouble on Vegas Street and needed her to come. Sherry sighed and made her way there.
When she arrived, she found a crowd surrounding Nancy. Nancy immediately told the people that Sherry would pay her debt. Sherry frowned, realizing this was not the first time this had happened. The girl explained that Nancy owed her $50,000 and had been avoiding payment for a month, despite promising to pay $5,000 in interest. Sherry, feeling a headache coming on, asked if the girl accepted transfers. After getting the account number, Sherry transferred $60,000 to settle the matter.
Nancy then tried to get in the cab with Sherry, but Sherry remained silent. During the ride, Nancy asked how much she had paid, but Sherry ignored her. Nancy became resentful and eventually got out of the car in anger. The driver advised Sherry to respect her sister, but Sherry knew the situation was more complicated than it seemed.
Back at home, Sherry rested for a while before logging onto her laptop to review her stocks. To her surprise, she had made a profit of $3 million. She then browsed for online jobs and sent out some offers. By three in the morning, she was exhausted and ready to sleep.
Just as she was about to doze off, her phone rang. It was Bryan, informing her that he would pick her up the next day and take her to the place where they would be staying together. Sherry, too tired to have a long conversation, hung up and immediately fell asleep.
The next morning, Sherry woke up late and prepared to leave. When she walked outside, she initially mistook Bryan's driver, Calvin, for Bryan. After realizing her mistake, she handed her bags to Calvin and got into the car. In the car, she finally saw Bryan, and was immediately struck by his stunning good looks. His dark hair, strong jawline, and ice-cold yet captivating eyes made her almost lose her composure. She had to mutter to herself to regain her senses.
The car ride was mostly silent, and they finally arrived at Bryan's luxurious mansion, Golden Edge. Sherry was in awe of the grandeur of the place, realizing just how wealthy Bryan must be. She took the house key from Bryan and entered the house alone, as Bryan returned to the company.
Inside, the house was even more magnificent than she had imagined. She ordered takeout and waited for Bryan in the living room, eventually falling asleep on the couch.
Later that night, at the Seductive club, Bryan was sitting with his childhood friend Richard. Richard asked about the agreement Bryan had signed with Sherry the day before. Bryan explained that he had sent Clinton in his place. Richard warned Bryan that Sherry was a cold person and that he should be careful not to fall for her, as he himself had once fallen for her without reciprocation. Bryan scoffed at Richard's warning.
After leaving the club, Bryan returned home and was surprised to see Sherry sleeping on the couch. Just then, his phone rang, and it was his Grandma asking when he would bring his future granddaughter-in-law to visit. Bryan sighed and promised to do so when he was less busy.
What will happen next in the relationship between Sherry and Bryan? Will Sherry be able to handle the challenges that come with this contract marriage? And will Bryan's feelings for Sherry change over time? Stay tuned to find out more in this exciting story of love, money, and unexpected connections.
